What Home Theater Owners Have To Say....
Many people are jumping on the home theater idea these days. In reading and speaking to many homeowners I have a list of some of there suggestions on what to worry about and what not to give too much thought.
- Soundproofing is important.
This will totally affect the experience. Many have stated that they never gave much thought to this and wish they had. - Choose a darker color theme.
For a better viewing experience and maintaining the quality of the image, you want a darker room. Also, high gloss paint can cause a glare. - Enhance the ceiling.
Depending on your budgetary limitations, adding texture to the ceiling will add to the visual appeal and can add an acoustic touch to your theater.
Another option is a “night sky” effect. - Seating is key!
Being comfortable is the most important factor. Depending on the size of the room and your intentions for the room, you will need to decide whether you want traditional theater chairs or if you want to be more elaborate with “cuddle couches” and sectionals. - Decide if you want a traditional screen or a projector.
This is more of a personal preference and size decision. A TV displays a fixed image size, regardless of resolution. A projector allows a varying image size.

FAQ’s:
- Does a TV or projector use more electricity?
A regular TV consumes less power. - Is a 4K projector as good as a 4K TV?
The main differences tend to be in price. - How long will a projector last compared to a TV?
Projectors can last as long as a TV, but will need bulb replacements every few years. - Are projectors better for your eyes than a TV?
A projector’s large screens are easier on the eyes as long as you don’t stare at the bulb.
